PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL LUNCH ARE ON THE GALLERY!

Topics:

Our topic for the Autumn Term is 'What do I know about myself, my family and my local area?' We will be walking around the school environment and the local area. In lessons we will learn about the key features of our local area and discover how Leigh was a very important town in the past. The children will learn about the 'Mills' and the 'Mines' and how these affected peoples lives in the past. In Literacy lessons the children will read a range of big books that have information about our topic and a trip to Quarry Bank Mill (near to Manchester Airport) will help the children to experience first hand 'what it was like to live in the past'.

Events:

The Christmas Fair is on Friday 28th November.

The Open Afternoon for the new intake (2009) will be on Tuesday 2nd December.

The Christmas Play will be on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th December in the afternoon.

The Christmas Parties will be on Thursday 18th December.

The children will continue to take place in the weekly 'Let's Celebrate' assessmbly in which children will get certificates for good work and behaviour.
A child with exceptional manners will be chosen each week to eat their lunch at the 'Top Table' with Mrs Worthington Head and other staff members.

Homework Packs:
The children who have signed up for the weekly maths homework packs should remember to return them every Tuesday morning to be changed for a new pack. If your child is enjoying the pack you can keep it for another week.

The Gardening Gang

Mrs Wyper and the children are working with Mrs Crank and the Reception children on a project to achieve a Royal Horticultural Society Gardening Award - so far they have achieved Level 1 - well done!!
