HAVE A LOVELY SUMMER HOLIDAY!!
Topics
Our topic this half term is 'Myself'. In lessons we will be reading a range of fiction stories such as 'Mrs Honey's Hat', 'The Train Ride', and many more. We will also be reading a range of non fiction stories such as 'My Body'. To find out more information about what is covered this term look at the 'Term Overview in the Reception entrance. A topic web with further information will been sent out to you.
Our class role play areas for this topic are the 'The Doctor's Surgery' in Mrs Browning's room and 'The Cottage' in Mrs Hardman's room. Mrs Partington and Mrs Peet will work with small groups of children to plan and develop the role play area outside.
Events:
We will take place in the weekly 'Let's Celebrate' assessmbly in which children will get certificates for good work and behaviour.
A child with exceptional manners will be chosen each week to eat their lunch at the 'Top Table' with Mrs Lightfoot and other staff members.
Diary dates will be available shortly!
Maths Homework Packs
This is an initiative in which the children take a maths activity pack home each week. The packs are aimed towards your child's particular needs at that time and are fun games for you to play as a family at home. You will be asked to sign a consent form which states that you will pay a fee of £3 if any item goes missing or gets broken. Your child will then be given a pack to bring home and information will be given so that you know when and where to return it each week. (Mrs Browning's Class on Monday and Mrs Hardman's Class on Tuesday. Packs are changed by Mrs Crank and will be collected in each holiday.
The Gardening Gang
The children will be busy this half term. They will tidy up the garden after the summer break and look after the sensory garden. Mrs Partington and Mrs Peet will work with the children to plan and make garden ornaments to brighten up the outdoor area.
