Summer Fair Saturday 3rd July – 1.30pm
Any donations are most welcome towards our summer fair. Any bottles, tombola items and cuddly toys would be appreciated. Our Friends of St John’s are meeting each Tuesday morning to plan and organise the summer fair. All parents, carers and grandparents are welcome. If you cannot attend the meetings but would like to help out on the day please see Mrs Hughes.
Each year group will be singing on the day and our new King and Queen will be crowned.
Building work
Our building work is now almost completed. We are really pleased with our new library and hall area. Can we say a big THANK YOU to you all for your support and tolerance while the work was being carried out.

Premier Sports
Places are available to Year 1 & 2 for the after school sports club. Please complete form and send into school for the attention of Mrs Hughes. Places will be made available to reception children if the club is not full. Please see Mrs Hughes with any queries.
Leigh Children’s Centre….
…at 18 Market Street, are holding an information morning about summer activities for families on Saturday 19th June. From 9am to 1pm. Contact Gwen on 404403.
R.A.G. letters
Your child will bring home a coloured coded attendance certificate next week. Attendance is coded as follows:-
Red – below 89.9%
Amber – 90-94.9%
Green – 95% and above.
If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance please see Mrs Hughes.
Sports Day
Our annual sports day will be on Monday 5th July, starting around 1.15pm. All are welcome to come along and support the teams.

Tesco for Schools
Please collect vouchers and place in collection box near the front entrance. We will exchange vouchers for ICT equipment.

Year 1 have received their caterpillars in school and are patiently awaiting their transformation!
Asda and Aldi now recycle batteries.
Our school council will be meeting to discuss our Eco Plan for the next academic year. Can we say a big thank you for all their ideas and help with this years activities.

Georges Smiles Run
There is a 3 mile fun run and other events taking place at Pennington Flash on Saturday 19th June in aid of Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey. There are information leaflets and entry forms in the entrance foyer. Please note this is an external event and not planned by school. Please direct any enquiries to the contact name on the leaflets.
Year 1 – zoo trip
Year one had a great time at the zoo. Photos will be on our school website soon.
Reception play
Reception will be performing ‘Humpty Dumpty’ on Thursday 8th July at 9.15am.
We will be filming the performance and the DVD will be available to order afterwards.

Year 2 – U.F.A. – the last session will be Monday 14th June.
School Book Club
A leaflet will be sent home today. Please can any orders with payment be returned to school by Friday18th June.
Sea Life Centre
One of our parents has kindly donated vouchers for using at the Sea Life Centre in Blackpool. We will be sending home one per child.
