ENJOY THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!
 
 
Year 2 – Junior School Transition
If your child is not moving on to Leigh C.E. Junior in September, please can you speak with Mrs Hughes (if not already done so). She can liaise with yourself over any transition arrangements to your child’s new school.
 
 
School Book Club
Please send in any orders with payment by Friday 7th May.
 
 

Headlice – please be extra vigilant for headlice as we have had a couple of reported cases. Please check with your pharmacist regarding treatment. Some pharmacists will be able to prescribe medicines to treat this condition without charge. If you require any information please see Mrs Hughes.
 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Holiday list 2010/11
Attached to this newsletter is a list of school holidays for the 2010/11 period. These holidays will be the same for children moving to the junior school.
 

 
 
We received a lovely thank you card from a resident on Gordon Street thanking us for litter picking on the street on Earth Day.
 
DON’T FORGET OUR…….
Photography competition
Thank you for your entries so far. We have had some lovely photos. You can take a picture of any type of wildlife or green space (even your garden!).  Please bring photographs into school in a clearly marked envelope by Friday 28th May and give to your child’s class teacher. Eco prizes to be won!
There will be 3 categories. With 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each.
  1. Reception; 2. Year 1; Year 2.
 
 
www.generationgreen.com  - School can collect ‘leaves’ via online donations and through Eco activities we do in school. Please visit the website for further details and help school to win more Eco resources. There are lots of Eco activities for your child to have a go at. 
 
 
Bee Keeping Trust – the beekeeper who visited Earth Day has informed us of an open day they are holding as part of National Insect Week. It will take place on Sunday 27th June at Fir Tree Farm, King’s Moss, St Helens.
 
 
Asda and Aldi now recycle batteries.
Non-Uniform Day

Summer Fair
Our summer fair will be here before we know it! Our Friends of St John’s will be meeting each Tuesday morning after the half term at 9am to plan and organise the summer fair. All parents, carers and grandparents are welcome. 
 
 
Please keep collecting vouchers. Many thanks to everyone who has sent in vouchers so far. We are doing really well.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2010
Please save vouchers when you shop at Sainsbury’s. A collection box is near the front entrance for your donations. We can exchange the vouchers for new P.E. equipment. 
 


 

Tesco for Schools
Please collect vouchers and place in collection box near the front entrance. We will exchange vouchers for ICT equipment.
 
 


 
 

Flora – 49 days of collecting to go!
Our school is registered on line to collect the tokens from Flora products. Please help us to collect points to exchange for cooking equipment. You need to register a code online from the instructions on packs of Flora. Visit www.cookingwithschools.com
