We all had a great time on Earth Day yesterday learning about bees, planting seeds, biodiversity and birds of prey. The children enjoyed seeing the owls and had a chance to watch one fly. Their favourite activity was the bee keeper with his observation hide. Photographs will be on our website.

Staffing
I am delighted to report that Mrs Lightfoot has been appointed to the position of Headteacher following my retirement in the summer.

Mrs Lightfoot is totally committed to St John’s School and I know that under her leadership the school will continue to provide the very highest level of educational provision.

I hope that you will give Mrs Lightfoot the same high level of support you have given to me.

On a less happy note, I have to report that Mrs Worthington (Year 1) is in hospital after a sudden and unexpected illness. She has had an operation which was successful and is recovering. However she is unlikely to be back at school for some time. We will keep you informed of her progress.
