Haiti Fundraising Appeal – PYJAMA DAY

School Valentines Disco – Wed 10th Feb
All children - Please come along to our disco next week. From 6pm-7.30pm. Cost is £1 – pay on the door. Refreshments included. No additional money is required. See you there!

Payment for toast
Please can we ask that payments for toast be made on Monday of each week. This helps to manage our classroom token system more effectively and ensure that there is enough toast for our children.
Lost Property
To avoid children losing items of clothing, please can names be written on all clothing your child wears to school.

BOTTLE TOPS
WE ARE NO LONGER COLLECTING PLASTIC BOTTLE TOPS.
v We are no longer collecting plastic bottle tops as we have discovered the charity is no longer accepting bottle tops for this cause. We will recycle your donations.
v Useful websites which we used in school is www.ecokids.ca or www.naturedetectives.org .uk
v We are still collecting used stamps. There is a red post-box near the front entrance for your donations.
v Forthcoming competition – in the summer term we will be holding our own photograph competition. The theme will be local wildlife and green spaces. More details to follow.

Please collect any tokens from cereal boxes. We will be collecting until early March when we can redeem them for books for our new library. A collection box is near the front entrance.

Holiday Requests
We are receiving a number of requests for holidays in term time. Can we please ask you to consider very carefully before booking holidays particularly Year 2 children who are involved in SAT’s during the month of May. Obviously if children are on holiday they will be unable to take their SAT’s.
Reception Trip
Reception children will be visiting the Build a Bear Factory at the Trafford Centre next week.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2010
Sainsbury’s will be starting to give out vouchers when you shop with them from the 17th February. We will be collecting them in school and will have a box near the front entrance for the vouchers. We can exchange the vouchers for new P.E. equipment.

The church holds a family service on the first Sunday of every month. All are welcome.
February Half Term Activities
Leigh Library
Monday 15th February – Derby Room – 1pm-2.30pm
The playing out team will be running a half term fun filled session learning circus skills for children aged 5-15 years. Wear practical clothing. No need to book.
Tuesday 16th February and Thursday 18th February – 10.30am – 12.30pm - Artist led workshop for 5-12 years – cost £1 – to book phone 01942 404469
Saturday 20th February - 2pm-3pm – Messy themed crafts with lots of paint and glitter for children age 0-11 years. No need to book.
Pennington Flash
Tuesday 16th February – 1.30pm-3.30pm – Willow sculpture (for all the family) – learn the art of willow weaving by helping the rangers create willow sculptures. To book telephone 01942 605253.
Pennington Hall Park
Tuesday 16th February – 1pm-3pm – National Nest Box Week (for all the family) make a nest box for your own garden, the rangers are on hand to help. Also learn how you can provide nesting materials and nesting sites for your favourite garden birds. To book telephone 01942 720453.
Wednesday 17th February – 1pm-3pm – Spring bulb planting (for all the family) – help rangers to plant native woodland bulbs at the park. Learn what to plant in your own gardens. To book telephone 720453.
