A BIG WELL DONE……..
to our Year 2 gymnastics group who came second place in a school gymnastics festival held at Bedford High School on Tuesday. All the children received a certificate and a silver medal. We are very proud of their hard work.   Thanks go to Mrs Hatton for organising the event.

P.E. lessons in school
·        For Health and Safety reasons, please can we remind parents that children must only wear stud ear rings to school. Also if earrings cannot be removed for P.E. lessons please send plasters into school so we can cover the earrings for the lesson.

·        Please can children have a full P.E. kit in school at all times. P.E. is an important part of the school curriculum. If a child does not have a kit in school it may result in them missing their P.E. lesson. We are closely monitoring children who persistently have no P.E. kit in school and may be forced to take further measures in the future.

Thank you for you support in these matters.

Lost Property
We have a large amount of cardigans, tops, PE kit, hats, scarves, gloves etc in school. The items do not have names in them so we cannot return to the child.

On Monday, Mrs Williams will be displaying the lost property near the front entrance. Please can parents/carers check if any of the items belong to their children as we will be sending the clothing to charity after this week.

Please can names be written on all items of clothing your child wears to school.

Thank you.

v    We are no longer collecting plastic bottle tops as we have discovered the charity is no longer accepting bottle tops for this cause. We will recycle your donations.

v   Our reception children have been learning about the environment this week, in particular about the impact of litter. They went out and about around school doing their own litter pick.

v    A useful website which we used in school is www.ecokids.ca  or www.naturedetectives.org .uk

v   We are still collecting used stamps. There is a red post-box near the front entrance for your donations.

v    Our Year 2 children will be working on a mural design based on biodiversity. The design will be used (together with murals from other schools) on the Bengal Street toilets in a bid to improve the look of the building.

v    Forthcoming competition – in the summer term we will be holding our own photograph competition. The theme will be local wildlife and green spaces. More details to follow.
Please collect any tokens from cereal boxes. We will be collecting until early March when we can redeem them for books for our new library. A collection box is near the front entrance.

Holiday Requests
We are receiving a number of requests for holidays in term time. Can we please ask you to consider very carefully before booking holidays particularly Year 2 children who are involved in SAT’s during the month of May. Obviously if children are on holiday they will be unable to take their SAT’s.
